Bank Holiday Weekend

I've decided to learn to knit.

It could prove to be a very useful social skill.

I'm knitting a scarf, because it seemed like it would be easy, as its just a straight line. My scarf, however, does not look like it's going to be a straight line.

I started out doing it 25 stitches across (like the woman in Tudor Williams told me) and then I counted them after I'd done a few lines, and there were 31 stitches.

So I tried to do 2 stitches at the same time to get rid of some of them, which worked for a while, as I went back down to 25. But then I went back up to 39.

So then I deliberately dropped a few stitches (because I'd already dropped some, so there were already holes in the scarf...) but I accidently ended up dropping most of them in the same place, so there was a bit missing from the edge of the scarf.

So then I got my Ruth (who is good at knitting, and happens to be spending the weekend with us) to fix it for me.

I ended up losing a few rows, but I'm back on track now.

And I'm using fluffy wool (acrylic I think), rather than the traditional wool that is ripped of the backs of sheep. Its quite forgiving, because the fluffy, hairy bits hide the holes, but its also hard to see when you're doing because the hairs get in the way.

I think I should have finished it by winter....

I feel a bit old though, because I've been sitting in a rocking chair all afternoon, knitting. (Should I really be publishing a potentially name-destroying, reputation-damaging statement like that on the Internet?!)

Its a novel way to spend a bank holiday weekend though, don't you think?

In typical Bank Holiday Weekend fashion, it has been raining all day. And in typical Bank Holiday Weekend fashion, we are trying to have a BBQ. I'm sitting here nice and warm, but I can see my dad and my brother standing in the garden, incinerating meat.

And in other news.........

I'm planning to take up ballroom dancing. I don't think they do that in the Malden Centre though, and I dunno where else to check. This is because I watched 'Shall We Dance?' yesterday. It inspired me. My family are being a bit unsupportive, because they keep reminding me of what happened when I did ballet. That was 12 years ago now. But the video tape still exists. Somewhere. And I'm not going to relax until I find it and destroy it.

Also, I'm re-thinking my A Level choices, and therefore the rest of my life. I think I'm probably better at English than Science, and I do enjoy English as well, so maybe I should go down the Language route rather than the Science route? I can't think of many careers in English apart from journalism and teaching and acting. I used to want to be a journalist, but the other two don't sound very appealing to me. Although I decided a long time ago that journalism is probably a lot more glamorous on TV than it is in real life. Medicine may be more rewarding.

Anyway, if I'm gonna change my mind, I have to hurry up, because they have already made the A level option blocks. So I may actually be too late already....

The meat is fully incinerated now, so I have to go.

Enjoy your Bank Holiday Weekend!!!

........Study Leave

I don't know why we have it...

I mean, surely the teachers know that, left to our own devices, we aren't likely to work.

I did actually do a bit of revision this morning. Because yesterday I told myself I'd go into school today, but this morning I decided I could't be bothered. So I didn't.

I was revising Bible Passages for my RE exam tomorrow.

Then I got bored, so I got on the computer and let Google take me for a ride. I ended up finding a website made by my English teacher's son. (I know its him and not someone with the same surname, coz she went on his website once during a lesson. Don't ask...).
There was a link from his website to his MySpace, so I went on that as well. I found out that his dad (or my teachers husband) has a 1970s Fender.

But after that I was so bored that I wrote an e-mail to my English teacher (I have her e-mail address because we used to talk on msn... her display pic is David Beckham in a semi-naked, slightly erotic pose. Dirrrrty).

I turned the e-mail into a ransom note for my copy of To Kill a Mockingbird. I said if she ever wanted to see the book again, she'd have to raise my coursework grades. And then I added that if the book didn't provide enough leverage I'd steal her husband's Fender.

Then I deleted the e-mail before I could accidently send it.

ARRRRGH.
I'm so bored.

I added some songs to my Wedding Playlist on windows media player today. Its still not finished. There are a lot of songs I still have to get hold of.
For example, Van Morrisons version of Have I Told You Lately. I have a different version of it, but I want Van Morrison.

I have 'Don't Wanna Miss a Thing' by Aerosmith, which is the most important song on the list. As well as Kiss Me (Sixpence None the Richer) and Truly madly Deeply (Savage Garden). Mustn't accidently delete them or anything. Maybe I should make some back up copies of the songs?

Actually, no. There must be millions of copies of those songs....

I'm still deciding whether to leave 'My Aphrodisiac is You' by Katie Melua on the list.... What do you think?

You know what? Whoever made those mugs that keep your drink hot is a genius. I know ur only meant to use them in the car and stuff, but I use it all the time. Coz sometimes I make a drink and then forget. And cold coffee is really skanky. Although I spose I'm lucky coz I drink it black. White coffee is even worse when it gets cold...

I even use that mug on the bus sometimes. And watch everyone staring enviously at me while they sit there shivering.

Oh, I was planning to tell you all, I have a stalker. He's really getting on my nerves. Actually, he has been for a while, but I only just realised he's a stalker yesterday.
We met (if you can call it meeting) in the Waitrose/Iceland car park. He works for Waitrose as the guy who sorts all the trolleys out.
Every time we went there, he'd come over and talk to me, and according to my mum (who thinks this is hilarious and is refusing to call the police) he asks about me whenever she goes there without me.
He lives on my route to school, and I have to run away and take the long way if I ever see him, because otherwise he stops and makes me talk to him for ages and makes me really late.
Last year he asked me if I'd go with him to see Aladdin or something like that at the Theatre with his friends on Valentines day. Coz apparently it was gonna be a 'great laugh'. Uhhhh....how about NO WAY!!!!!!!!
Also, when Star Wars 3 came out, he saw me somewhere and asked me if I was gonna watch it. I muttered something and ran off. But then a few weeks later I was at Waitrose, and I'd just come out, relieved that I hadn't seen him, and then I heard some really heavy breathing behind me. I turned around and saw him coming towards me, and I was just about to leg it, when he shouted, "I AM YOUR FATHER!!!!!!!!!". It was a Saturday, so it was really embarrassing, as everybody started looking at me like I was some kind of troubled child with a complicated background, who didn't even know who her real father was. I think I was the only one who realised he was doing a Vader impression....and it worked. I was terrified.

Anyway, yesterday I was in Woolworths, and he came in and started chatting with me. He's known my name for ages, but I found out that he also knows which school I go to (thats not so hard though - he's seen me in uniform) and he knows how old I am, and that I play football, and that I have a sister in Primary School, and other stuff that he shouldn't know.

I'm probably gonna go missing some time soon, because my mum and dad tell me I should be more friendly to him rather than being rude.
I'm not being rude, I'm protecting my safety.

Maybe I should stalk him back. After all, I already know where he lives.

'Unrequited Love can be a Killer'

I kid you not. This is on the BBC website:

Lovesickness can kill and should be taken more seriously as a legitimate diagnosis, according to health experts.

Frank Tallis, a clinical psychologist in London, is among those calling for greater awareness of the "illness" in a report in The Psychologist magazine. He said many are
"destabilised by falling in love, or suffer on account of their love being unrequited" and this could lead to a suicide attempt.
Few studies deal with the "specific problem of lovesickness", he said.

Physical Exhaustion

Prof Alex Gardner, a clinical psychologist in Glasgow and a member of the British Psychological Society, agreed that doctors needed to be more aware of lovesickness as a possible diagnosis.
He said: "People can die from a broken
heart. You get into a state of despair and hopelessness."
He said as a result of love, in some people it could lead to an extreme state of physical exhaustion. In extreme cases lovesickness could drive people to take their own life, he added.
Dr Tallis said that before the 18th Century lovesickness
had been accepted as a natural state of mind for thousands of years. He said in modern day terms the symptoms can include mania, such as an elevated mood and inflated self-esteem, or depression, revealing itself as tearfulness and insomnia.
Aspects of obsessive compulsive disorder can also be found in those experiencing lovesickness, such as preoccupation and obsessively checking for text messages and e-mails.

Hmmm....'preoccupation and obsessively checking for txts and e-mails.'
We've all been there......

Finished!!!

I finished my room!!! And put all the stuff back in it!!!
I also cleared it up, and got rid of a lot of stuff in the process.
You wouldn't believe some of the stuff I've been holding on to over the years. Fortunately I have a younger sister that I can shove a lot of it on to...
"Wow!!! A My Little Pony!!!! I don't think you can get those anymore!!!", or "Wow!!! I think this Jaqueline Wilson book is out of print now!!! Thanks!!!"

Heres a close up of the floor (How wierd does that sound???)

Also, I decided that I've out grown most of the posters I used to have on the wall.... so I took them down. Heres a picture of what it used to look like when they were still up, in case you've forgotten...

.....I even took down the Avril shrine.... (shock horror).

(btw, the flag is only there because there was no other wall space available for it.... So don't leave me any helpful comments telling me that she'd not English, coz I know she's not English. In fact, I probably know more trivia about her than you do. =P Unless you're Deryck Whibley. And if you are Deryck Whibley, I don't believe you two are actually gonna get married, but if you are, can you hurry up please? Thanks. Oh, and please don't make her change her surname, coz can you imagine crowds screaming, "AVRIL WHIBLEY!!!"? No? Good, me neither....)

Eugh. I just ate a whole packet of those love heart things. I don't know why... they taste like chalk. Or those worming pills we had to take in India. (In case you're wondering, I never actually got tapeworms, so all those times I had the worming pills were pointless. Just thought I'd clear that up... =D )

They change the writing on those love hearts. because I remember when they used to say 'Fax Me', but now they've changed it to 'Txt Me'. Some of the things they say are stupid. I don't think faxing someone is very romantic. But I've never actually sent a fax (romantic or otherwise) so I spose I'm not really an authority on that...

My Floor

Well.....

You know how I said on Friday that I'd get something exciting to happen to me on Saturday so I could have something interesting to write about here? I dunno if this is exciting, but its something that took so long that I couldn't write until now (Monday morning). Actually, its still not finished.

On Saturday morning I woke up (like usual) and wondered what my bedroom floor would look like without a carpet on it (not like usual). Before I'd even had breakfast, I had ripped up part of the carpet to see what the floor boards looked like. They looked OK, so after breakfast I ripped up the rest of the carpet. (With parental consent. In case you were worried.)

It took AGES. We had to chop the carpet into lots of little peices, which made a huge mess. Also, when we put that carpet in, years ago, we didn't bother taking the original carpet away. So it was like a carpet on top of a carpet. So we actually had to take out 2 carpets. Everything in my room is covered in about 2mm of dust at the moment.

Anyway, once we'd got all the carpet out of my room, and shoved it messily in the bathroom, we put all my furniture back and cleared everything up.

The thing was, the floor wasn't all the same colour. You know how in the Victorian Age (or similar) they used to have rugs in the middle of the room, and then they painted the bits of the floor that weren't covered by the rug?! Thats what the floor was like. It had a big white (or natural wood colour) patch in the middle, and the edges were all dark brown where they had been painted.

That didn't really bother me, but my dad came up and said it didn't look very good, and that I'd have to sand it all down. (Yes, the whole floor). So he went down to B&Q and got an electric sander, which was really fortunate, because imagine how long it would have taken me to sand it all with one of those little sanding blocks you use for model sheep and other small wooden things!

It still took ages though. Actually I should have said that in the present tanse because it is still taking ages. I haven't finished. Its quite painful too, because it vibrates your whole body (and the whole house). I feel like I don't have a hand print anymore because all the little lines have been rubbed off by the vibrations.

And, it put a lot more dust over everything.

I have a small patch of floor to sand still, but mum said I probably shouldn't start til 9 to give the neighbours a chance to wake up of their own accord.

After I finish the sanding, I have to paint the floor as well. Actually, I'm 'staining' the floor. (I'll use technical terms). I didn't want to varnish it or paint it, coz then it will be shiny, and how annoying would it be to not be able to see where I'm walking, because I'm dazzled by the glare coming off the floor? I spent ages choosing the colour. You would not believe how many different shades of brown there are....! I couldn't decide between 'Dark Rosewood', 'Walnut' and 'Burnt Oak'. In the end I picked 'Walnut' because I was bored of looking at tins of paint, and that shade of brown seemed to be half way between the other two. Also, its quick drying. Which is also good.

And I've decided I'm gonna paint over all the marks on my walls as well. Not with the brown! With the left over paint we have in the shed from when we painted it before. AND I'm gonna paint the skirting boards as well. (Yes, I do know what they are called.) AND I know that you don't use the same paint. There are separate tins of paint for walls and for wood.

So....wish me luck.

I have a GCSE exam tomorrow, so I need to get this done ASAP so I can revise...

P.S On Friday I ended up watching Forever Young. Kinda silly, but alright I spose. And I was wrong, the effects were actually quite good.

I miss Blockbuster

Do you remember ages ago when I used to write blog entries about my weekly trips to Blockbuster???

Well, the reason I haven't written about it is because the tradition suddenly came screeching to a halt about half a year ago when we joined an online DVD rental thing. This may make me sound a few decades older, but advances in technology aren't always good things.

Don't get me wrong, it is handy having DVDs sent right to the front door, and then just having to walk to the post box at the end of the road, rather than the whole way back to the High Street to return it.
It just feels a bit empty and automated, thats all.

Also, when I add DVDs to the list on the website, I might add something I feel like watching at the time (eg: Action Film), but then, by the time it arrives, I actually feel like watching a Chick Flick.

Whereas with Blockbuster, you normally go there the night you're going to watch the film, so you know what you want to watch. Obviously, being an adolescent girl, I am quite prone to mood swings, but normally I still used to feel like watching the same film by the time I'd got home.

Also, Bockbuster has a nice friendly feel to it. Like going to a corner shop to buy milk, instead of getting a bus to a supermarket.

Ohhhh....I'm getting more and more old fashioned every day. I accidently agreed with something on the conservative manifesto the other day. Obviously I didn't realise I was agreeing with it at the time, otherwise I would have changed my opinion or something... (Just don't tell anyone that please...)

ANYWAY my reason for telling you all this is
a) because I haven't written anything on here in a while, and I don't want it to start feeling like one of those derelict industrial estates in a run down area of North London.
and b) because tonight I will either be watching Forever Young, or 50 First Dates, because those are the 2 DVDs that have been sent at the moment.

Forever Young is about a guy who gets frozen in Cryptonite (is that how you spell it?!) by his friend in an experiment, but then his friend accidently forgets to defrost him, and then gets killed by a car. Then people discover this frozen man 60 years later, and defrots him, and he lives OK, but he goes off in search of his girlfriend, and she's really old, but he was miraculously preserved by the cryptonite. It was released 1992 so the special effects will probably be rubbish... Its got Mel Gibson and Jamie Lee Curtis in it.

50 First Dates is about a playboy who tries to get with a woman who has short term memory loss. So he has to make her fall in love with him every day, coz she keeps forgetting who he is. (Which must be frustrating). So thats why they have 50 'first dates'....she never remembers any of the other dates. Presumably they eventually get married and live happily ever after (if they don't, I don't wanna watch it...). It was released in 2004, so it will have better special effects (though I dunno what they will need them for with a story like that...) and it has Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore in it.

So, what will it be?
Adam Sandler is more attractive than Mel Gibson, but what if Forever Young is a better story?

Anyway, since I'm not watching this alone, I'll let my sister choose. She's a control freak, but she gets less satisfaction when she's given the control (as opposed to having to fight for it). So maybe I should put up a bit of a fight first?

I'll tell ya how it ends.

I feel sorry for you lot having to read this. Some people write interesting blogs.

I'll try and have something exciting happen to me tomorrow so I can write about it here and be less of a waste of fibre optic cables and servers and whatever else the internet is made of.

Feeling Hot Hot Hot

Its so hot today!!!! =D

I didn't bother going into school.
Well, actually, I was gonna go in for the revision for Luke's Gospel, so I walked the whole way to school (a whole 10 mins) and signed in, then wandered around school waiting for the bell to ring, then realised that hardly anyone in yr 11 was in, and decided that if they weren't gonna bother coming in, I might as well take the opportunity to enjoy the sun like them. I I walked back to the office, signed myself out (realised that I'd only been in school for 6 mins) then walked home and sat in the sun.

I've had quite a lot of exercise today, coz I took Honey out, and I actually ran for a whole 2 miles. Fortunately Honey stops to pee a lot, so I had lots of opportunities to stop and try and get my heart to slow down a bit...
Then, about 30mins after I got back, the secretary from my sisters school phoned and said she'd forgotten her swimming stuf, so could I take it in for her. I love my sister, but she uses those poor secretaries as her own PAs. She's always going in to get them to phone home coz she'd forgotten something, or to borrow their phone(!!!).
She's gonna have to get out of that habit before she joins my school next year. School secretaries do not have time to waste.
Anyway, I took her swimming stuff in for her, and it was like taking a walk down memory lane. Loads of memories of my time at primary school came flooding back....until I actually got to the primary school. It looks like a concentration camp now. It has a huge metal fence the whole way round it, with huge metal security gates that automatically lock. You can't get in without asking one of the secretaries over a built-in intercom system. And when they finally buzz you in, the gate weights about 10 tons, so it's still a lot of effort.

Back in the days when I was there, there was no security at all. We could have walked out of school in the middle of the day, and the only thing that stopped us from leaving was the knowledge that the teachers would track us down and then beat us with a metre stick that had drawing pins sticking out of it.

ANYWAY, after that I came back and sat in the garden 'revising'. It was really hard to read the text book without sun glasses on, but I don't wear sun glasses between the hours of 11 and 3 because I don't wanna end up with a 'sun glasses tan'. Thats not vanity - thats just not wanting to look like a racoon for the rest of the summer.

I found 4 bottles of sun cream and 2 bottles of aftersun in my room from last summer. Apparently sun cream kinda goes out of date, so I'll probably have to get some more.
One of the bottles was the spray one that is blue when you put it on and then fades, so you can see if you've covered everywhere.
One was just normal sun cream.
One was water sports suncream that was waterproof (duh) and it wasn't meant to go slimy in water (coz I hate that) but it didn't work that well.
The other one was oil free sun cream that doesn't block your pores. Its got French and English writing on it, so I think I got it from Canada last summer...
One of the bottles of aftersun is the 2 in 1 mosquito repellant and after sun that I took to canada last summer. I still think its pure genius, although I think they may have to increase the concentration of mosquito repellant a bit....

I'm sure that all this good weather is because I've been listening to Jack Johnson. Its definitely summer music, and I think it makes the sun come out.

So do the rest of the UK a favour by listening to this song! =P

Contents of my Locker

Emptying my locker was actually a very emotionally draining task.

That locker has been my only personal space at school, it made me feel safe....secure....at home..... and now it's gone.

But a part of me will always be in that locker. Because of the countless skin cells that are left in there. And also because my name is scratched on the inside of the door.

Emptying my locker was also a very physically draining task, because of all the stuff that was in it. Elizabeth thought my locker was 'disgraceful', which I can kinda understand, because, being my P.A, she has organised every other part of my life, except my locker, which for pshchological reasons, I could never allow her to control...
But Emma said my locker was a 'health risk', which I thought was really harsh and uncalled for. They both went on about how it was unfair on the people with lockers next to mine, because plague spreads. Well I don't know about the people in their block of lockers, but the people in my block have the same 'locker keeping habits' as me. In fact, some of them have worse habits. The worse thing I've done is left food in it over the holidays and come back to find it rotting. (Actually, maybe the football boots on a hot day, or the McDonalds milkshake that kinda tipped a bit were worse incidents...you decide...).
Anyway. The locker under mine smelt like something had died in it for about 2 weeks. I wasn't there when the corpse was removed, so I dunno what it was.

Anyway, after I'd managed to empty it out, we laid everything out on a table, for Elizabeth to help me to establish what was 'rubbish', what was 'needed' and what could have been 'taken home and filed'. The only thing we found that didn't fit under any of the categories were my lucky socks that I lost in yr 9. (Yes, they were clean!!!)
I also found 'The Safe Parenting Handbook'... probably something I picked up in Health & Social Care...?!

I found lots of old drafts of coursework, and a 360 degree protractor, which I'm now planning to use in my Maths GCSE.

I also found some really weird messages from friends...

In yr 9 (or was it 10?!) me and Emma designed the flat we were going to live in. We were gonna build it on top of the Starbucks by the Lock in Camden.
Erm....in this conversation, I'm only gonna show certain parts...

Ahhhh.....

Good Times.

Heres what my diary looks like when it is scanned in:

I'm not actually a vegetarian, as my diary would suggest.

Nor am I particularly into animal rights.

Dalia did work experience with Peta, and is came back really on fire to rescue battery hens and stuff... with all the stickers...

I think she's got bored of all that stuff now though.

OK....

Enough stalling now.....

I should go and do some work.

Even though I'm sure you'd all love to see some more pictures... ; )

33 Reasons...

...why you shouldn't post your picture on the internet!

www.33reasons.com

Haha

Ages ago, one of Ali's friends got hold of a picture of me and turned me into a vampire-like thing, and then e-mailed it to me. It was a bit of a shock at first, but it was really funny!

Unfortunately I lost it, along with most of the rest of my life, when my hard drive was formatted.

If I still had it, I'd show it to you though!

Mayday!

I love bank holidays!

This one was slightly less exciting, because technically I'm on study leave now and wouldn't really have to go into school, but to make up for the lost excitement, we didn't spend the bank holiday weekend in Devon or visiting relatives or anything like that!!!

Its so nice to be able to have a holiday at home.

So anyway...

The decking (our latest home improvement plan) has finally been completed today. To avoid carrying paving slabs around or shifting bits of wood, I went into Kingston today.
I didn't really want anything, but my mum wants me to get new trainers, coz apparently my current favourites are 'grim'. I'm not actually sure how many pairs of trainers I have right now, as I'm not sure how many of the previous pairs I chucked, and how many I decided to hold on to for sentimental value. Personally, I don't have a problem with my trainers. I've had them for about 2 years, which is probably a personal record. I stopped growing about 3 years ago, which means that trainers last for longer. Also, I haven't really used these trainers for football much, coz they aren't football coach friendly. (If you're gonna have to chase em down the pitch every time you kick the ball, there's no point in putting em on in the first place! Leave em in the skate park where they belong!!!) So thats probably why they lasted this long...
Anyway... I was looking for trainers everywhere but I couldn't find them, because now that its 'summer' there are no girls trainers around. All you can get is flip flops. Which are great when its hot, but at the moment you're toes would probably end up blue...
They had male looking trainers out, but thats probably coz men wear trainers all year round...

When I was in one of the bigger shops (can't remember which one.... I traipsed round so many shops...) I was walking through the dresses trying to get to the shoes at the back, and I got stopped by a friendly looking woman who asked me for a favour. I agreed to help her (more out of curiosity than servant-heartedness...I mean, how many things can you help with in a shop?!). She held out a whole armful of dresses, and said, "I'm trying to get a dress for my 21 year old daughter, but I know absolutely nothing about fashions for young people today, so which one do you think she'd like best?!".
Woah.
I almost told her she'd picked the wrong person, but there was part of me that felt flattered that out of the many people in the shop, she'd picked me out as being someone who knew a lot about fashion. Must've been the sunglasses...
The thing is, I know very little about fashion, and absolutely nothing about dresses....
I had a look at them, and as she held them out, she told which designer made each dress. I nodded like I knew who the designers were, and eventually she stopped and looked at me, so I assumed she was expecting some kinda feedback. I stood there, staring at the dresses, trying to think of some intelligent sounding comment to make, and then she said, "If you think they are all ugly, or old fashioned, just say so. I won't be offended - I don't want to get her something she won't want to wear...".
One of them really was genuinely ugly, so I told her I thought it was 'last season'. Not that I'd know, but it seemed like a nicer thing to say than, "Eugh...that one is seriously ugly!!!"
I looked at the rest of them, and they mostly seemed like OK dresses. I asked her if it was for a special event, and she said, "No, I just felt like buying her something". That didn't really help to narrow it down... So then I asked, "What colours does she like to wear?!", and she said, "Whatever's fashionable...", which again, was not helpful...
I was trying to remember what colours are in. I vaguely remembered hearing that 'Red is the new Black', but then I'd also heard, 'Brown is this season's Red". And none of the dresses were red, black or brown. There was a really simple looking blue one, and it looked like it was a similar style to stuff I'd just seen in H&M (well...it was the same shade of blue...), so I told her I thought it was nice. There was a yellow dress I'd seen a C list celebrity wearing red carpet at some film premier in a really boring magazine at the doctors about 2 weeks ago, so I said I thought that one was also nice.
Then she reached out behind me, and pulled another dress off the rail. It was kinda pale pink with brown pinstripes (which actually looked niced than it sounds) but it was a shift dress. Princess Dianna is the only person who's ever managed to make a shift dress look remotely flattering, and I remembered a really old episode of 'What Not to Wear' when Trinny and Susannah had destroyed someone's shift dress because it made the woman look like 'an armoured tank', and the woman had burst into tears.
So I said I thought it was also last season.

Eventually the woman said she'd get the blue dress.
She was really grateful for all my 'help' as well, so I hope her daughter likes it. Apparently she's at Durham University...
She was a really nice woman, and she obviously really likes her daughter if she went through all the hassle of buying her a dress for no apparent reason. And not just any dress - a designer dress.

I asked my Mum why she never buys me designer dresses, and she said its coz the last time she made me wear a dress was at a wedding and I was about 9 years old and I ruined the whole day by making a fuss about it.
So I kinda don't blame her...
